Prisoners freed early in England and Wales risk living on the streets, say probation officers
Warning of a lack of hostel places for 2,000 criminals due to be released over the next month to ease overcrowding Hundreds of prisoners are due to be released early from jail on Thursday amid warnings that many will have nowhere to live and the probation system will struggle to monitor them. About 2,000 criminals including domestic abusers and violent offenders are to be freed over the next month, with another 3,000 in stages over the next year to ease overcrowding. The number was reduced from 6,000 after an intervention by the prime minister, Andy Burnham. Continue reading...

Are we about to watch the State that owns Manchester City take the current “fake news” mantra (so dominant of right wing populist leaders who no longer value truth nor facts) and apply it to a legal decision that clearly evidences their malfeasance? Football and City fans deserve better than this!

Hannah Arendt articulated fascism as the temporary alliance of the “elites”, and “mob”.Neither of whom represents the vast majority but the power from the former’s organised money and the latter’s power amplified in the contemporary use of social media makes this alliance more deadly than ever!

IN GAZA:Unemployment has reached 78 per cent. GDP per person fell to $212 last year — barely 17 per cent of its pre-genocide level — while less than 1.5 per cent of Gaza’s cropland remains accessible and undamaged. Recovery and reconstruction will cost at least $71.5 billion!

Man City exemplifies why fans we need to differentiate now between “our team” as a football club and as a bought business”In reality what “the owners” have done is nothing to do with the players or the fans. It’s about corporate greed and State sports washing neither of which is controlled by fans!

When a former anti-apartheid activist warns us about the rise of racism and the far right in the UK, we have to listen. Progress isn't a straight line — if we don’t actively build hope and unity, things go backwards.
Quote from a supporter near Royston: once an anti‑apartheid activist in South Africa, they say they are disturbed by the rise of racism, xenophobia and the political right in the UK.
