Lithium, cobalt, Palladium, and platinum aren’t “rare earths”. They ARE critical minerals, and expensive for sure. Many US-available EVs use LFP batteries. Ford, GM, and Tesla all sell cars in the US that use LFP batteries

Batteries don’t use rare earths at all (they’re used in magnets in motors) “Traditional” NMC batteries use nickel and cobalt but 85% of the batteries produced in China now are LFP and don’t use either. Sodium batteries don’t use them either

I suspect he's trying to apply some pressure on Canada with this announcement, except... 1) That "65 billion barrel" reserve is heavily exaggerated, and much of it isn't accessible economically with current technology 2) The oil they CAN get to will take years to reach.

I'd never heard of this 1974 film adaptation of The Little Prince and I'm gobsmacked. Stanley Donen directed, and included Bob Fosse and Gene Wilder in the cast. Also Lerner and Lowe's last musical (though they were reportedly unhappy with the final result)

Don't get me started. RCA committed to promoting Harry Nilsson's '77 album Knillssonn, his first album in years to have commercial potential. I think there were at least 3 chart hits and it was Harry's favorite of his own work. When Elvis died RCA pulled the plug.
