He was also anti capitalist. Orwell would wholly endorse these changes to keep his story alive and relevant now that communism is basically extinguished.

You don't know Orwell at all if you think he would be opposed to updating the message to criticise capitalism now that communism is basically gone. Orwell hated capitalism in his own time, let alone what it turned into now.

Reform want to round up migrants and detain them indefinitely in areas that don’t vote for them. Yet for most of our media, it’s those marching for Palestine who are creating hatred & fear. These disgusting plans are an affront to democracy — and must be fiercely opposed.

So this is illegal. It's long overdue time for the systems to show guard rails exist and to prosecute and punish reform, not ignore it like the last illegal campaigning they did in Manchester. If Reform knows they can just threaten and extort voters like this, where is the limit?

Why did 1930s propaganda of a Jew show up in a 2026 cartoon? Is his money changing table out of frame? Per cartoon, why kick the suspect in the head when he is laid on the ground surrendering having thrown the knife away? Where is shorts guy who made the actual arrest without stomping the suspect?

Just go Google margin of error, as you do not seem to know what it is. You can use a very tiny percentage of a very large population to get reasonably accurate polling data, so long as you are sampling at a sufficiently random level in a sufficiently non biased way.

Phill @three-edged-sword.bsky.social · 22/02/2026
It's mentioned in the link. You can plug the poll size and population size into a calculator. I get it at about 4.6% having double checked, but my population figure is a bit out of date. This assumes the polling work is good quality and sufficiently random, of course.

The margin of error is 4%, Greens are 7% point ahead of Labour. So yes, we can rely on that poll to decide which of the two parties is the best choice to defeat Reform.

Labour are to the right of reform on unnecessary cruelty. Tommy Fakenames is literally celebrating Labour policy. They are now talking about stealing belongings of refugees & making them a permanent under-class. They are two or three news cycles from talking about tattooing numbers on their arms.

For added context the tax gap between what is paid vs what should be paid is over 5% and about £50bn a year. Spending more in HMRC has consistently been shown to return multiple returns on investment. Some projects have recovered over £20 for every £1 spent on enforcement. A 500%+ roi is common.

Helpful reminder that PIP has a "fraud" rate in the last three years of 0.2%, 0.0% (not a typo) and 0.4%. Most due to people improving in condition but not navigating the process of reporting correctly. Therefore every pound cut will have to come directly from someone who is or was eligible.

Overuse of anti semitism has distorted the label. I can't help but give initial benefit of the doubt to people accused of anti semitism now, at first glance, thanks to zionists labelling everything anti semitic. When Ms Rachel is labelled anti semitic for what she did, it has becomes meaningless.

Farage's Reform want to allow the super-rich to buy their way out of paying UK tax for just £250k. This would cost the country an estimated £34 billion in lost revenue. Rather than exempting the wealthiest, the Green Party would tax them properly to help fix our public services.

LGPS isn't the best pension out there, but it's very good. A lot better than basically all DC schemes. As a pension professional the scheme was part of why I considered local civil service last year on a bit of a career shift. If Reform get their way the civil service will have a huge brain drain.

CPI to September 2024 was 1.7%. This is why you got that as your annual PI. This was the same increase rate for MP pensions by the way. The benefit of the LGPS is a more generous calculation of pension at the end, so all the benefit is built in at retirement date.

If you legalise it you can tax it, can control the quality so people don't get random toxic shit in their edible or joint, and you can directly grow the economy by moving sales from gangsters to legal licensed establishments. There is no reason it shouldn't be available like alcohol or cigs are.
