UK investment to Germany rocketed by 284% in 2025. With investments totalling €26 billion, the UK was Germany's biggest foreign investor, accounting for 31% of all foreign investment. Germany is attractive to foreign companies, with foreign investment up 50% to €86bn.

The Deutschland-Ticket, providing unlimited regional public transport for €63/month, is used by around 15m people in 🇩🇪. According to a recent report, 12-20% of the journeys made with it, would have been made by car, which saved 2.5m tonnes of CO₂ per year. #GermanClimateAction

🇩🇪🤝🇬🇧 Rolls-Royce and the State of Brandenburg signed a Letter of Intent to further strengthen and develop the company's site in Dahlewitz. With this, both sides commit to actively shape the transformation of aviation & further expand Brandenburg's role as an innovation hub.

I was shocked when I first saw these results from standard climate models used in IPCC reports: for high emissions, the Atlantic overturning circulation #AMOC shuts down in all 9 models that ran past 2100, and is well on the way to shutdown by 2100. Our paper on that is out today.🧵

The number of balcony solar systems in Germany has doubled within a year to around 1m. The compact photovoltaic units are typically mounted on balconies & have a max capacity of 800w. They feed electricity into the owner’s home & any surplus into the grid. #germanclimateaction
