I finally get to see the perfect version of me / The only problem happens to be it’s not actually me [OCs]

Drawing of the poster’s OCs in greyscale. Apostle Solis stands in the foreground, talking to people out of frame. He’s smiling and engaged and looks casual. A distance behind him, Saint Solis stands with both sets of arms crossed, frowning as he wordlessly observes. He has not a hair out of place and there’s a stylized saint halo around his head like the ones seen in religious art.

Wheezing on the ground. I finally had the time to just sit down and finish another chapter of Astra fic. Wow, it’s a good thing we don’t have to think about Saint Solis now that he’s dead! <- uh oh archiveofourown.org/works/907414...

Hey @ my T4l3s of the 4byss-liker friends. You should read Astra Inclinant because my core conceit is sort of like, "what if O!Ion didn't die and had to exist alongside replica Ion while making himself increasingly more furious that his copy was so much better at coping with being alive than he is?"

Once again, I think we really just need to make a site, but the time investment in learning what to do and then actually doing it might prevent this. I could make something, sure, but I don't want it to look awful, and I don't have the skill or design sense for that.

A pen and color pencil drawing of Apostle Solis and River Zheng from Astra Inclinant. Solis, a green, mantis-like alien, leans against River, his forehead resting against River's temple. Solis's bottom set of eyes are closed, and his top eyes stare blankly forward, his expression quietly worried. River sits next to him, one arm hidden behind Solis, the other holding one of Solis's upper hands. He looks at Solis in more open worry, his lips parted. Both men look tired.
Solis is dressed in his usual uniform, while River is dressed more casually in a black t-shirt and pants. He has a simple bracelet on his wrist and a ring on a necklace hanging around his neck.

'tis the season of art prompt lists. i made my own list for OC-tober this year! 🎨 have fun with it. feel free to do as much or as little as you want, repeat the same prompts multiple times, combine with other lists, whatever is fun for you! #OC-tober #OC-tober2026 #OCsky

TITLE: OC-Tober Art Prompts
Description: it's OC-tober, the perfect excuse to spend the whole month drawing your
original characters. you can approach these prompts with whatever degree
of seriousness and effort you want. this isn't a legally binding list of obligations,
it's just ideas to get the gears turning!
the list: • finish an unfinished piece (maybe even more than one)
• design a new character, or finish an unfinished design
• rework a character design that needs some polish
• design a movie poster or a magazine cover
• draw a single-page comic or short storyboard
• draw your OCs in an alternate universe
• draw your OCs in another art style
• find a blank art meme/challenge to do
• draw something you find difficult, using your OC
• draw an OC at a different age than you usually do
• redraw a scene from a movie or TV show with OCs
• draw an OC cosplaying one of the characters that
inspired their design
• redraw a childhood drawing of an OC
• draw two OCs interacting who you haven't before
• play with alternate color palettes
Footnote: re-interpret however you want or combine with other lists! the only
rules are have fun, take care of your wrists, and don't use AI.

He’s in cute fall fashion mode. 🍎 [OC]

Drawing of the poster’s OC, River. He’s posing casually in a red and plaid outfit with a capelet and a an apple-shaped beret and bag. His dark curls are braided back and he has a pretty but masculine face with phoenix eyes. The whole image is done in red screen tone with some brown accents.

"They're not misunderstanding the film; they're co-opting a message"

Screencap from the interview linked in the quoted post

Marlow Stern (the interviewer): You have one of the most renowned replies in Twitter history. Elon Musk tweeted out, “Take the red pill,” then Ivanka Trump enthusiastically wrote, “Taken!” to him, and then you replied, “Fuck both of you.” I’m curious how you feel about the co-opting of “The Matrix” by those on the right who don’t really seem to understand its messaging.

Lilly Wachowski: I mean, I can’t sit in a room and explain the movie to every single person who watches it. Even if I did sit in a room with Elon Musk and Ivanka Trump — yikes — it doesn’t matter. They’re not misunderstanding the film; they’re co-opting a message. And that’s what fascists do: They co-opt the messages of progressives and use it to their benefit to confuse and obfuscate what is going on and the intention of their ideology. They do it with everything. They do it with Martin Luther King Jr. Look at how they’ve changed the idea of what antisemitism is.
