For those considering a run for local office and (understandably) concerned with the threat of political violence, @runforsomething.net factors that into its spectrum of candidate support. Also, it's super fucked up that THAT is an issue to run for school board.

For most folks, democracy is local. So get out and run for office. The people are demanding change. Don’t just wonder when that change will happen. Be that change.

There are ways to cosplay on a budget and I am happy to share my tips! #cosplaymakers #cosplaybudget #cosplay

A new North Dakota bill would require stores to pull any book with any "material harmful to minors" from the shelves. For those in the cheap seats, that effectively means ANY mention of sex, sexuality or gender. A bookseller could be arrested for displaying 1984. www.inforum.com/opinion/colu...

Port: It's not just about kids, and it's not just libraries

Legislation under consideration in Bismarck wouldn't just restrict access to books in schools and libraries. The language of the bill also applies to private book stores.

Made the rookie mistake of wearing a ring while the barometric pressure was changing in Minnesota the last few days which caused flareups for me and had a VERY scary moment at work when it wouldn’t come off and was messing with my circulation. Had to do the thread trick to get it off.

My partner and I are doing haruka and michiru’s school outfits (sans blazer) for my valentines collab and I finished some pieces at work today. All that’s left is to sew up the skirt and style the wigs (light styling they’re pretty good already) We’ll hopefully be getting out for pics this weekend!

Please wear a mask when you can. Even if you don't always, even if it's not the best mask, even if you didn't this morning and you'd feel silly if you did now... any amount of masking is better than none. Nobody is perfect, we're all doing our best, please mask and protect yourself and everyone ❤️

If you are a federal worker being offered a buyout, I would advise against taking it. Of course, this is a personal decision for everyone and it’s your choice. But these offers are a rush job. The legality is questionable and this admin does not keep to its word. They aren’t firing for a reason.

The bag and casings are done! Now I just have to finish the waistband, put the hoops in and attach everything and it’s finished!! Then on to the rest of the dress

020

Starry/Dee @thestarry-knight.bsky.social · 30/01/2025

One step forward one step back with Ursula. Got one of the casings done and fully on the hoop and sewn shut but I messed up the sewing on the other casing and had to recut it out. And decided to completely redo the bag, so I took the old ribbon/hoop casings off and now have to wait to do more

Starry/Dee @thestarry-knight.bsky.social · 30/01/2025

Tubing and wire are here so now I can finish my hoops

020

Starry/Dee @thestarry-knight.bsky.social · 29/01/2025

Cut out one of the hoop casings, reusing the old folded waistband from the first attempt as a second casing once I sew it down a little thinner. Reusing as much of the fabric/materials from the first attempt as possible #cosplay

I think I just want to say.... cosplayers wearing respirators would probably also like to be pulled aside for quality hall shots as often as non-masking cosplayers. Or are we only good to you as a representation of conventional health and beauty? A mask says, "I care," not, "leave me alone."
