That's a fabulous album. Dangerous Bacon and The Road To Venezuela are outta sight. 👐

Roag talks A LOT of bollocks. Did the Casbah tour once, and with a completely straight face, he claimed Paul was thanking Mona on the Rooftop with "Thanks Mo". Unreal. Never bought the medal story.

I'm gonna get kicked up the bum for saying Carnival of Light, aren't I? 😂 I WANTED CARNIVAL OF LIGHT. And Woolton Village Fete audio, and songs they gave away demos and who knows....some cleaned up exotic live stuff.

Hey Pat, I met Thomas briefly at the Neil Innes 02 show last winter and he was kind enough to give me a fab Neil badge and a CD. No Beatleweek this year unfortunately, trying to watch my voice and prepare for a thing the following week. Have fun pal! 🙌

Yes that's it. I think he wouldn't be immensely happy with the sound they've went for....which is kinda sad.

It's fab to hear the demo vocal in such clarity......but it kinda sounds like a big bone dry demo vocal really up front and sticky-outy. I think I'm the only person that liked the ghostly tape vocal. Sounded more like a record. Having said that the guitars sound nice and clear. Glad it exists etc.

I feel it's the saddest Beatles song for some reason. There's a real cosmic yearning in it, a futile emptiness in the face of it all. Almost makes me melancholy but absolutely love it.

"Christmas For Sale" progress.... (Yes, it's a Christmas song in the style of Beatles For Sale 🤷)

Happy birthday wonderful Beatles For Sale, the most maligned of all Beatles albums... Certainly seems to be getting quite an unfair bashing of late but love it. Great sounding LP.

They should do a Complete Beatles Archive streaming subscription service. Every take, every tape track, every session, every live concert all available to stream. It would be a MASSIVE hit.

Couldn't afford a ticket when they went on sale. Holding out for a Christmas miracle. 🙏😭🤣

At the Neil Innes Celebration the other night a lady lay down next to where I was standing DURING this song. Thought wow she's really making a statement but thought I better ask...nope was having an episode so I alerted staff. They promptly took her away and also my coat too which was next to her. 🤷

The Poppermost @thepoppermost.bsky.social · 01/12/2024

PS apparently they kept John's mic down because they were scared he'd make a massive boob, not cos some cleaner wiped the settings... ridiculous.

Ah thought you meant Washington sorry. Combine Washington and Sullivan and you've got the compleat thing🤣

I thought it was better than Eight Days A Week but not as good as Beatles First US Visit. A weird appendage to both. 🤷

Seems hard for folk to accept, but pretty much without exception when you hear falsetto on an early (62 to 65) Beatle song it's JOHN. Paul always sings high full voice. John is falsetto guy. If you want to get in to it see me after class.

060

The Poppermost @thepoppermost.bsky.social · 01/12/2024

Actually it's only John you can hear. He does all the top-line falsetto lines on EVERY early Beatles song. Paul always full voice when high.

He's repurposing it as AI-nthology. Enjoy.

It was cos you were talking loudly every 5 seconds with your bald mate cos you were full of free wine and you don't even like The Beatles.

Ignore the “too many talking heads” reviews for “Beatles 64”. Everyone interviewed was THERE and has a view of it from the time. Apart from Terence Trent D’Arby who was born in 1962. I laughed heartily when he appeared on screen and was told to “Shut up fat boy” I presume that was his PA.

Wow this is like The Beatles getting back together. Love Tom Baker being odd, ignoring the other Doctors while scribbling a note he later gives to Mary Tamm. Wonder what it said? 🧐 youtu.be/pOJUJYj2TQM?...
