This is just a relentlessly horrific story. It’s hard to adequately contextualize the moral desolation of this unfolding in the midst of a midterms against a ruling party helmed by inveterate rapists and rape apologists. www.phoenixnewtimes.com/news/congres...

This this this this. I have been saying for decades that wholesale campaign finance reform is ESSENTIAL, usually to glazed eyes in return. Our current situation owes a lot to our current campaign finance laws and workarounds.

We are a broken nation. Hundreds of thousands of Haitians were living and working legally, paying taxes, and contributing. Haiti remains wholly unsafe. But Trump hates Haitians, and the White House wanted videos of Black people in chains, so they stripped them of status and turned on the cameras.

Those with terminated TPS are in our nation Illegally. They have two options: LEAVE IMMEDIATELY or be DEPORTED.

USPS’s job is to deliver the mail even if some mailed ballots genuinely are fake, illegal, fraudulent, or otherwise invalid. It’s on election administrators to catch and reject those, and they do. USPS has no role in it and the very idea mucks up the systems we actually have for election integrity.

When your government says it’s planning to open multiple prisons that will house up to 3,000 children, it’s time to demand a new government. There is no context in which this is legitimate or acceptable.

Trump, Hegseth, etc. don't actually care about members of the military at all. They only think of them as pawns and props. I'm glad this fact is finally breaking through and getting more and more coverage.

I think there’s a tendency to frame this as a “Trump’s silly obsessions” sideshow story, but it’s a pretty grotesque corruption story. The administration squandered millions on a no-bid contract to an inexperienced company that botched the job, then indicted innocent people to cover their error.

A self-respecting Congress would impeach him over this immediately. Doing an end-run around the Senate's Constitutional "advise and consent" authority to illegally take money from taxpayers, and give it to himself and criminals he likes. Alone, one of the most impeachable offenses in US history.

This is correct. There is no future of democratic self government in the US with an unreformed Supreme Court. The Court is riddled with corruption and abuses of power and rooting out that corruption is a sine qua non of civic democracy in the United States.

Trump's entire presidency is a huge list of things to make people suffer with absolutely nothing at all to make people's lives better. Each time, his apologists are just left with the claim that by hurting these people, everyone else is somehow better off.

Minnesota ICE-watchers did this. By relentlessly documenting ICE/BP/DHS abuses—taking on personal risk to do so—they’ve gotten the horrors into more information streams. Got more people to pay attention, undermined Trump regime lies, and shifted the stances of some Democratic officeholders.

Things will escalate this year. The Trump regime’s fascism will become more intense, but so will the resistance of the American people. It will culminate in the people’s attempt to elect a Democratic Congress which the regime will first try to prevent and then will try to invalidate.
