"Republicans plan to kill working class people to fund tax cut for their wealthy donors" That should be the headlines everywhere describing Trump/GOP's bill because by stripping health coverage from 12 million people it will literally result in 50,000 preventable deaths per year per studies.

Lots of people approve of making the government more efficient, but firing workers en masse to pay for billions of tax breaks for a few people is not popular with anyone but those few and their cronies.

Schumer’s explanation as to why he went from opposing the CR to reluctantly supporting is really an admission that he fears uncertainty. He doesn’t know how to act in a fluid and volatile atmosphere. He craves the perceived certainty of keeping the gov’t even while it crumbles around him.
