It’s actually incredible to me: some of the most remarkable people in the country - simultaneously among the most brave, the most skilled, and the most kind - being violently targeted by losers who’ve had their brains melted. And nobody who’s in a position to do so is standing up for them.

I can't remember a clearer smoking gun than that Channel 4 News footage. Nigel Farage and his senior aides all filmed discussing apparent plans to break the law by funnelling foreign money into British politics, plans which at least partly went ahead. A criminal investigation surely must follow

Some of London’s detractors are determined to paint a picture of a city becoming less safe. The facts tell a different story. These crimes are down ⬇️

People can "just adapt" to a changing climate, a thousand rightwing voices keep telling us. Either they lack imagination or they don't care. Try "adapting" to this. www.theguardian.com/world/2026/a...

The most disgusting behaviour I’ve ever witnessed in public spaces was directed at Sadiq Khan by ‘anti-Ulez’ protesters, who of course received way more coverage, much of it friendly, than the scheme’s incredible success ever will.

You are creating that debate. There is no debate. There is a far right talking point and a media willing to traffic it into the mainstream.

Reform UK wants to shut this down. If it did so, it would throw a million people out of work. Why? because it is beholden to the fossil fuel industry. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

I've spent my life arguing against all football fans being tarred with the same brush, but to not even acknowledge that Maccabi Tel Aviv's far-right fans posed a threat to public order, and Birmingham's Muslims in particular, is next-level racist gaslighting

Does Robert Jenrick even realise English clubs were banned from playing in any European football competitions after May 1985 for the rest of the decade, returning only in 1990/91, after Heysel disaster, as UEFA + our government felt fans couldn't be policed safely travelling away?

Hey British media, It’s no surprise that if you give Farage the run of the place, he’ll start winning. Time to do your actual jobs and start interrogating him on his Brexit shitshow, his funding, his Trumpiness, his idiotic manifesto, his real plans for the NHS… instead of drumrolling him into No.10

There’s no such thing as working productively with MAGA nihilists like Elon, Vivek and RFK, Jr. They want to bring down our Republic. Don’t normalize them by pointing out a few of their good ideas. You can’t play nice with the leopards. Let them into your house and they will eat your face.

When I say Farage should not be underestimated/ignored, I mean what he says/does should be rigorously scrutinised & noted. NOT that he should be given 'publicity' as 'Trump's friend in the pub with a fag' as much of the established press has done for years – which should also be scrutinised & noted

A word on the Allison Pearson free speech row, and what she describes as a ‘Kafkaesque’ threat to it. We asked her on @thenewsagents.bsky.social to discuss. She said: ‘No. And if you get any aspect of the story wrong my lawyers will be watching.’ Gotta love a free speech warrior 🤷🏻‍♂️
