I said this in the comments on Jordan's YT. But hardware had such a massive impact on me as a teen. Incredible film. I read Stanley's book "Otto Rahn: Grail Hunter", about the gay Jewish medievalist who became the SS's chief relic hunter last year, mind blowing and a very weird book.

This is his later hex table i think not sure. i was looking for the sand table basement photo I have Peterson's PATW on my shelf, I'll look though it when I get home tonight. Currently thinking about 1800's 'Sandkasten' + Kriegsspiel, Gygax, and Elite being the first 'sandbox' game.
