yeah I agree. But i think that comes about because of the collapse in decorum and living standards. Outside of major urban areas, England (specifically) is pretty wild west imo. Here's a comment on how some of the pride in place money is getting spent. I mean they're not wrong I guess. lol

It was the narrative and knowledge of the danger I bought with me that made being at the location register a threatening. Also, one of the big things I realised going to Pripyat is that there really isn’t enough broken glass foley sound in post apocalyptic media at all. It just *everywhere* you go

Standing like 150m from reactor 4 was the first time i’ve experienced a 'place of evil' as an active force. Radiation is obviously an insipid danger, no signs of death and danger detected except yellow and black warning symbols zipped tied to the fence.

Like the LRB piece mentions, it being reproduced in COD meant that actually going to to the fairground was like being inside a 'hyper reality'. Visiting somewhere you've only been in a dream or something. You look at a side building and think 'Oh there's ammo over there'

Ofcom has obsoletely no jurisdiction over 4chan *at all*. If it cares this much, it can just tell ISP's to block it. Not fine it. Now it's going after the big stacks, I full expect Google etc to pick up the First Amendment and absolutely bludgeon Ofcom with it.
