Random throwback to a micro of mine published a while ago in @thehooghlyreview.bsky.social
RAT QUEEN
When you said you contained multitudes, I didn't know you meant like this. Was it the scent of my arousal or the fact that I said I love you that triggered your dissolution? I hardly had time to finish undressing before you splintered into a swarm of rats—some tawny brown, some ashy gray, some black like the rims of your glasses now lying abandoned on the floor.
You squeak as you race towards my prone body, noses wet and quivering, whiskers twitching at the scent of me, thick and salty in the air. As your bodies cover mine, I close my eyes, frozen, heart thumping, reveling in the soft fur brushing against my skin, the pressure of tiny feet massaging into my thighs, my belly, my breast. I wish I could be many things at once, instead of just the one. Mother, daughter, lover, flesh, bone, mass of feeling, galaxy of possibility.
Pink, wet noses remind me of Ratatouille-anyone can cook, except I already know that's a lie. You show me a different kind of love now, six bites per second, and I let you happen to me. I always knew I'd be devoured in a thousand different ways, by a thousand different teeth, each bite an act of love, of obliteration. Bristly fur sprouts on my body, and I become queen, singular, large and dominant, able to survive anything, even this one life, even you.
