Drs (and nurses, teachers too) only ever strike as an absolute last resort - and because they care about YOU and the service they can provide to you. Unsafe staffing impacts you. Exhausted Drs impacts you. Underpaid Drs means they LEAVE. I stand with our Drs today, and always. #nzpol

I don't share the kid publicly for good reason so the fact that children of 🇵🇸🇸🇩🇨🇩🇭🇹 need to be in photos & videos begging, starving, dying or smiling because the parents have been dehumanized to this extent just fucks me up.

New Zealand's Chief Human Rights Commissioner Stephen Rainbow shows remarkable, albeit reprehensible consistency: championing bigotry from transphobia at Auckland Transport to Islamophobia in current role. The man tasked with protecting minorities seems oddly committed to marginalising them instead.

Hipkins responding to anti-trans stuff by NZF as "not a priority" instead of full throated support for trans rights is a MAJOR red flag about the way both he, and more generally third way liberalism, operates "Not a priority" almost implies it would be reasonable under different circumstances

Labour's objective is (and has been the entire MMP era) to paint themselves as the responsible party of governance and procedure, and this term their overriding focus is dismissing the government's agenda as unserious. But they keep failing to identify *the harm* being done. And you can do both!

Imagine being thrilled about a party of bigots trying to reduce anything about you to a singular definition. All your effort to use a label to set yourselves apart, to other minorities further. You forget you're boxing yourselves in. Imagine hating yourselves that much. So damn sad. Such a waste.

This was snapped up so fast, I wish I could have had it for just one more day.
A floral painting featuring overlapping bright stylized flowers lays on top of brown cardboard. The five-petal flowers are yellow, orange and red, with white outlines and red and black centres. The flowers are interspersed with green and blue veined leaves on a rich blue background. The red watermark text subtly in the bottom left corner reads at the green cheetah.

Costello's move to ban inclusive language in reproductive care is transphobic AND misogynistic AND racist. Imagine being so obtuse that your priority is removing gender inclusive language to address inequities/biases in reproductive healthcare but not the chronic underinvestment & systemic racism.

Sold a work this morning to a painter friend flush from a sale last week 😘 Further to what @pepperraccoon.com said, in my experience, artists are some of the most generous customers; when we sell work, we often circulate money back to other artists. Buying creative work always has flow-on impact.

Just realized that whenever I've had a breakthrough in counselling, I've faced a situation(just hours later) that really tests whether I have. But some people seem to forget that healing is a neverending process, and just because you didn't catch these hands today, doesn't mean you won't tomorrow.
