I am a climate scientist and this is correct. As the planet warms, storms like the one today are getting stronger… and as the Arctic is warming twice as fast as the mid latitudes, it increases the risk of the “freezer door” swinging open. Technical explanation here: www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/...

Fires, floods, and fossil fuels - COP30 had it all. While many countries brought a meaningful contribution to this “annual global climate potluck,” a bloc of oil-producing nations prevented agreement on phasing out fossil fuels. COP30 reminded us that momentum comes from the ground up!

For decades, hundreds of thousands of people have drunk water polluted by PFAS. Yesterday, an Italian court finally sentenced the execs of the company responsible for this disaster. It's the first criminal sentence on forever chemicals and it shows that PFAS are a matter of personal liability.
