The Guardian has covered the story that there's no mention of women's safety in new planning guidance, despite it being recommended in two major government reports in the last month. But this is what the Dept of Housing, Communities and Local Gov had to say. Where's my pitchfork...
"The NPPF is a planning document.
It sets out guidelines for housebuilding and planning in England.
"The VAWG strategy is about protecting women and girls from violence and misogyny.
"It's unclear as to why anyone would expect the two things to be combined and therefore difficult to respond directly to the criticism."
