I visited the Pentagon recently and remarked to my escort there were lots of bathrooms. He said it’s because the Pentagon’s in Virginia and when it was built Jim Crow laws were in effect - there had to be separate bathrooms for blacks. The past isn’t dead. It isn’t even past.

I think one of the greatest takeaways…while the chaos has been rapid, stopping this, working to end harm….this isn’t quick work. Many of us are aware and awake to what’s happening but many are still not. Honestly I had hoped we’d fill the entire city block today. I am naive still, sometimes.
