To put this into a percentage - at the peak of Shayy's popularity, they had 470,000 Subscribers on YouTube (68% of them are still subscribed). On Twitch, it was around 69,000 (73% are still following Shayy). (Not a joke; 18158 people unfollowed since the dropoff, 50900 + 18100 = 69000)

While a revert could still happen, given how people disagree with removing Casual - doing so would be controversial. While it would be ideal to see Casual alongside Quickplay, as the latter would greatly benefit community servers - Valve did not choose that path, and ignored the best time to do so.

But while TF2 had the code for Quickplay still fully accessible with the Developer Console - Valve double downed, removed Quickplay in later builds, and moved on. So while it's not necessarily impossible, I don't think it would happen, as Valve has clearly shown a desire to move on from that.

While I don't disagree with the idea of Quickplay being readded (and in retrospect "delusional" is a term I disagree using here) - I don't think Valve would readd Quickplay, given Meet your Match's unplayable launch, had arguably a stronger desire by the community to revert back to Quickplay.

On a mechanical level, Quickplay has zero reason not to be able to return to TF2 - if Valve ignored official server support for technical reasons. Howrver, if Valve wanted to bring back and/or revert to Quickplay: Why wouldn't they have done so back in Meet your Match's Launch?
