It really doesn't bear reiteration. Most women who are attacked, the attacker is a man they know.

Exactly. And for those of us with fewer protections, that fear hits even harder. I’m feeling it personally while trying to relocate somewhere safer. If anyone wants to support my mutual aid fund, even a share helps. 🖤

Particularly if they're celebrities who know the thin end of sod all about it. I have to wonder - what's the budget of Free Thinking? How much does it's cancellation contribute to what they're trying to save?

... and I let you down, it could mean your life. I find the state of this country terrifying and I'm a cis white man. If life's a game, I'm playing on the easiest setting in many ways.

It's evil. I know im trustworthy, but it's my responsibility to show that I am. And that includes understanding why a trans person isn't going to automatically take my word for that. From my point of view, if you dont trust me, I might feel upset. From your point of view if you decide to trust me

It's wrong. It's just fucking wrong and I'm sorry this is happening. I've friends who are trans. I suspect most people know trans people. I think the difference is that I know that they're trans because they trust that they're safe with me. It must be horrible to not know who you can trust.

It's just accepted as normal that the UK hates trans people and that's ok. It doesn't even register as something to be concerned about when most cis people are talking about the state of the country. Tired.

No. Not in the least hyperbolic. This country has gone wrong so fast. So much that was bubbling under the surface has hatched out. And I think it's only going to get worse.

What's the most beautiful horror movie you've ever seen? I would say Kwaidan, though I realize that's a pretty basic answer. But given Kwaidan as a benchmark, can you recommend a horror (or horror-adjacent) movie in that league, or even more gorgeous?

On the other hand Night Watch was the first one I read - I loved the feeling of being plunged into a world that already existed. (Being pretentious for a moment, maybe that matched the feeling of dislocation Vimes has for much of the book.) Similarly, I started Babylon 5 with episode 2 of series 4

... then use it. The showrunner's job is to tell a good story. If that includes mentioning Lego, great. As a fan, if I'm bothered about why there's three 9th Doctors or why there's productions of 7 Keys to Doomsday or The Ultimate Adventure with different Doctors, then I can come up with a reason.

I bloody loved Lego Dimensions. My pov has always been that anything officially licensed is canon. So Cushing, Lego, Sky Ray ice lollies, Looney Tunes Back in Action, the games on the back of Weetabix boxes - all canon. Obviously, most of it never appears in the show, but if there's a good idea...

Robin Ince is both a very talented man and someone who lost a lucrative (by the standards of the British comedy industry) gig by taking a stand against transphobia. Support him and you get good stuff *and* show others that they'll get support if they do likewise. Win/win.

It is incredibly telling, to me at least, how Cameron and May were more progressive on trans rights, and yet even those areas of recognition are being rolled back/completely destroyed by Labour, yet trans and non-binary individuals are ignored, talked over, and told to shut up and support Labour.

I like to think 5 Drs comes straight after War Games for Troughton. When he & the Brigadier meet the phantoms of Jamie & Zoe in the Dark Tower, for a moment he dares to hope he might have his friends back. But they vanish and he's left a lonely old man dejectedly mumbling how sad it.

Someone pointed out once that most Doctors' second stories feel like Hartnell stories - I think it's something similar. Ghost Monument, Beast Below, 4 to Doomsday - you could imagine Hartnell in any of them.
