I just learnt that Kurt Danziger passed recently, shortly after his 100th birthday. No one has influenced me quite like he did... I feel grateful to have some correspondence with him near the end of his life, to have shared my gratitude to him. He was so generous to a stranger's questions.

Terrific episode! Recommended listen - especially for any neuro or cognitive scientist who hasn’t yet read Chirimuuta’s book (on the topic of what we’re up to and how we’ve been going about it). Also featured is her concept of the Heraclitean brain (always changing), which I find insightful.

How do we come to know the hypercomplex object that is the brain? I had the pleasure of speaking with Dr Mazviita Chirimuuta about the history and philosophy of its simplification, its analogy with computers, & the case for theoretical humility in how we study it. Links: linktr.ee/thehpspodcast
