Extremely sad. I first saw Tim at uni. John Howard was giving a speech to a roomful of braying sycophantic trinity students. Tim was the only one to ask a tough question. Really lovely guy, as a doctor and as a politician

How terribly sad. I've known Tim since our days as medical students, then as colleague at Doutta Galla community health centre. Funny, wise, politically committed. Great doctor and Greens rep in Victoria. Devastating that he died so young, still fighting for VicHealth, which Labor betrayed #greens

It's been interesting watching people discover Things about Gajdusek for the first time. I realise that I often veer more towards "I know this so presumably so does everyone else" rather than the more common "I have just discovered this so it's new for everyone" (neither approach being useful...)
