I think zack zappone makes a really good point about the jail not being a solution to unhoused people having nowhere to go. I'm curious why @zackzappone.bsky.social voted to make it a misdemeanor to not have a place to go in Spokane. Also, what the fuck is a flex bed between mental health and jail?

-Ofc Craigen advises he has a visual on the suspect. He advises the suspect is inside his apartment and has not exited since their arrival.
-Ofc Craigen advises they are "a little too far for verbals" and adds that he saw the rifle and that it looks suppressed.
-Ofc Mitchell advises the rifle is "right by the front door," that the suspect is about five feet inside the door talking to people who are not there.
-An officer requests that responding units "kill their sirens." This officer advises the suspect is standing at the front door with his back to them.
-An officer advises the suspect had stepped outside his apartment, was "rolling a joint," "talking to nobody" and was "unarmed at this time."
-An officer requests a phone number with which contact with the suspect may be attempted.
-Ofc Weber announces "233, we have shots fired." Shortly after this traffic, Ofc D Valencia makes an announcement of shots fired and requests a team go to apartment A Redacted to check the welfare of any occupants and have them evacuated.
-An officer announces that the suspect is lying in the doorway, the rifle is in front of the front door and there was no movement.
-Ofc Valencia confirms no movement and directs officers to check on apartment #A Redacted ("check on [Redacted]") because he was aware there was at least a child and two females who reside there.
-Ofc Valencia requests a drone to check the interior of the suspect apartment.
