Hmm, mijn aanvoelen is dat het veel rustiger is in de wijk. De cijfers van het telraam dat in de Begijnendreef hangt, lijken dat ook te bevestigen. Sinds de knip gemiddeld 1.114 personenwagens per dag (was 3.214), en zwaar verkeer halveerde van 600 per dag naar 317. telraam.net/en/location/...

Telraam cijfers geven aan dat er minder doorgaand verkeer is in de Begijnendreef in Turnhout sinds de ANPR-knip werd ingevoerd.

I'm afraid that 150ft/30m would be too far for reliable counting using an Indoor Telraam device. Is there maybe a neighbouring property willing to host your device (and therefore share access to the data)?

Oxfordshire County Council had ~100 traffic sensors on busy roads but zero data on quiet streets, school routes & rural lanes. Their fix: window-mounted Telraam sensors, half hosted by residents. 50+ now, 100 by summer. No images, no personal data - just counts & speeds. 🔗 lnkd.in/eh7fQ9Q6

If you think €200 is too much to pay for a high-quality multimodal traffic controller, including a SIM card and the accompanying platform, then the only alternative is to build something yourself using a Raspberry Pi or radar. Good luck!

Hammersmith Bridge was closed to vehicles 🚧 after £300m repairs were deemed unaffordable. But it never really closed, a Telraam sensor shows 12,000 pedestrians & cyclists cross daily, many commuting. Our data could help it become a model active travel route.

One thing that is particularly telling here is that I lobbied all of the relevant authorities (Richmond, H&F, TfL) to install automated cycle & pedestrian counters at Hammersmith Bridge, without success. So I installed this one myself. Institutional windscreen POV is very selective in what it sees

We discussed this subject this morning as well, with some figures of actually how busy it is - but just with pedestrians and cyclists instead of vehicles. We have a sensor there showing over 12,000 commutes daily over the bridge. Not closed at all telraam.net/en/location/...
