Also look for federated or distributed services. Like bluesky, like the fediverse, like Peertube and Odysee. These are the internet community sharing their resources instead of consuming new ones. Like a co-op. This can also help lower datacenter use.

For those reading down thread. Investigate "self hosting" or "home lab". It's taking responsibility for your own data storage and resource usage. It's fairly easy with a bit of time and effort. As they say The Cloud is just someone else's computer. That means it can be your computer too!

As they say the Cloud is just someone else's computer. Thus the cloud can also be your own computer. "Self hosting" is the cloud but where you're responsible for the data and the resource usage. You might consider it bespoke ethical free range backyard datacenter.

I'm sure that's the case. The concern of the OP seemed to be that they don't make a dumper for the console they wanted to play/stream. I was suggesting perhaps it's not such a big deal if they simply acquire a rom and emulate as long as they actually own the game and not stress too much over it.

Well said! This is tough to convey to a lot of folks. A lot of people, for reasons I can't fathom, don't seem to be capable of remembering they had to learn to use Windows too and it wasn't that hard. Linux is the same. You have to learn it, but it's not really that hard.

Emulation? I understand the compulsion to keep things on the up and up but if you legitimately own the game and there isn't, to my knowledge, a way to verify that a given rom was ripped from a given cart to actually prove it, then it seems like hair splitting?

I'm watching CDPR stream and the amount effort this studio has poured into a Remaster that's free for many is ludicrous. a lot Publishers would easily charge for this upgrade, i have not returned to this game since XB1 and PS4 Gen so i can't wait to play this again.

The Vita had a really cool thing going on having a bit of every console on it, Vita editions of PS3 games released simultaneously, some PS2 ports, PSP backwards compatibility which meant that you could get and play PS1 games too, that's amazing for a handheld this old.
