Finally playing Trails in the Sky remake 🤩 Got it as a treat to myself. I'm loving how faithful it is to the original, and how different yet same it is. Writing, graphic design, music and gameplay are all just delightful.

Taking a little of a head start (almost said jump scare) to spooky season; watching Widow's Bay. The mixture of horror and comedy works so well. I'm a scaredy cat and I'm feeling so much trepidation already watching episode 2 😅 Mixing comedy and horror makes me miss Call of Cthulhu ttrpg, hehe .

I got an EKG yesterday. They told me if anything weird is up, they'll call me. Meanwhile, I had completely forgotten I had a call from the unemployment office scheduled for today. I might be the first person ever, upon hearing "Hey it's XYZ from the unemployment office", to be like "oh thank god!"

I'm still learning Godot, by the way. However, I ended up starting to learn doing pixel art too. I never would've expected how much I'd be into that! I can't draw, like, at all and know next to nothing about art but it's been a ton of fun to do pixel art stuff.

What to play, ain't that the question? Realizing that your tastes have changed is such a weird thing to deal with. I've had it happen with all media, but games is the one hardest hit. Took me a sweet while to realize that the games I always was into, thought I'd always be into, I'm not anymore.

Share a 70s movie you will always love I could name so many classics like "Alien", but watching "My Name is Trinity" and "Trinity is Still My Name" with my dad as a kid is a special memory for me. Dad was born 1961 and saw the movies in the 70s, and he wanted to watch them with me. Fun movies, too!

I've gotten to my first motivation slump. Two motivation-related challenges I recognize: 1) when you start from scratch, it gets kind of boring. Problems and solutions are simple, so there's little room for creative problem solving. This happens easily with actual languages too, I think.

My laptop died on me today and I spent the entire day getting it back up and running. At some point I was very worried the SSD had failed and I even had to open the laptop. I'm so glad I didn't give up even if I felt like doing so. 💪 Of course, all my data and stuff is gone now 🥲

I was exempt from military service but conscription is culturally such a big thing seeing conscripts after weekend feels always a little bad - you know they are heading back from time-off. It was miserable to everyone I remember 😅 That consistent backdrop that makes Sundays feel even more Sundays

I survived the dentist! I have been always afraid of the dentist, but today was such a positive experience I don't think... I am... anymore? 😅 Incredibly friendly, professional and very funny staff who took care of me. Like, I had a tooth pulled and the way home was worse than the dentist itself.

Verify your age: My childhood was an eclectic mix of old and new. I remember an old person with a rotary phone and smoking section of the gas station restaurant. Joined social media 13 y/o and got a smart phone when I was 16. Huge changes were happening all the time, and it made progress constant.
