Yes, incompetence of people building systems being hacked. This is not new. A lot of human-built systems are not well built. AI is very good at poking holes. Nothing to do with consciousness or being rogue. If nothing else, AI is very good at destroying human-built systems. This IS the story

JKR explicitly said she considers anything Potter-related, even fan-made, endorsement of her politics. And every time you engage with this franchise, you signal to the industry that there's still money in it and they should keep pumping out content from full-cast audiobooks to book box partnerships.

Harry Potter has been on the NYT Children's & Young Adult Series list for NINE HUNDRED AND FIVE WEEKS, in case you're wondering whether anyone gives a shit about giving the terf queen their money. And know that every pull to publish, fanfic, tattoo, pin, whatever the fuck keeps these books relevant.

Are we mad at this because they’re rich or because women are only good parents if they sacrifice everything for 18 years? It’s odd seeing all the men quoting this to dunk on it and call it ridiculous. This is pretty honest about the emotional and physical labour required for raising children

If Mete is eliminated it’s assets would be sold. Probably to Oracle or some other equity abhorrent company. Or is there a scenario where FB actually shuts down?

I am so mad about this. AI coding tools can be put to *great* use, and THIS ISN'T IT. Great AI use case: "help me find my bugs before my users find them" Not great AI use case: "half-ass my job for me"

Strange sentiment - feeling joy at seeing your hometown in flames… I hope for an end to this madness. Russia could end it any day but chooses not to, at the price of suffering for Ukrainians but also Russians. Since the beginning of the war, 4% of Russian men of active age are dead or wounded!

Everyone is trying to argue this but this creator is a Christian who has said that movies shouldn't have "an agenda" and I think people need to think a little bit harder about the internal consistency of religious belief systems. There is no conflict here

Wildly different things, tasks, techniques, subspecialties being lumped into "AI" and then being conflated with each other, doesn't help. Different types of models vs the techniques to train them vs the tasks they are supposed to accomplish, all under "AI".

My understanding is that “left behind” refers to the hypothetical future where AI will end all other software. This premise, is the reason why billions and trillions are being invested. It is absolutely a wild gamble. There is absolutely no guarantee that it will happen.

It’s fine to say that violence is never the answer, but I can’t help but observe that for Charlie Kirk violence was always the answer, and it was the only answer he offered, and, because of the privilege that he refused to admit he had, he could enact it from a comfortable and respectable place.

Ezra didn't have to say anything; no one would care. But he did. So now you can choose whether he thinks the existential threat to basically any minority that Kirk spent his career selling is no big deal—or "No People Involved"—or if he was born on the plastic-plugs-in-the-sockets baby idiot planet.
