There’s a fight that @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social has been deferring. Now that TPS for Haitians is gone, he can’t defer it any longer. The road to abolishing ICE begins with local obstruction — not just the noncooperation of so-called sanctuary laws. And not taking it risks discrediting socialism.

@mayor.nyc.gov your Executive Budget released last month falls 97 million short of the 0.5% you promised during your campaign. @council.nyc.gov we’re counting on you to secure necessary funds for NYC’s public libraries and allocate at least 0.5% of the overall budget to our three library systems.
A picture of young kids being read to by an adult in a library is overlaid with a quote from Anastazia, a library patron. The quote reads “Under the current proposal, for every $100 of the budget, only $0.42 will go to libraries. In Eric Adam’s’ budget, libraries got $0.45 out of every $100. Mamdani, if you let him out swag you on this, you will never hear the end of it.”

Underneath this quote, text reads “demand 0.5% for your library” with a link to nycplan.org/actions

Happy Juneteenth, or what many Black Americans call 'Jubilee Day' or 'Emancipation Day'. A reminder that many of our household debts—medical debt, student loans, etc—are illegitimate. But reparations to Black Americans is a very legitimate debt that we do owe and must pay.
