I like to decide what's a weed and what's not. Red clover is good company for peonies and a pot of honey for bees. So it's not a weed.

Rare British Plant Makes Extraordinary Comeback from Brink of Extinction
There's something about an endangered plant: rooted, exposed, and unable to run from what threatens it, that unnerves one.

Magnolias evolved before bees existed. 95 million years ago, their ancestors shared the planet with the dinosaurs of the Cretaceous, but no bees. So they made a messy partnership with beetles that continues today & it explains why they're such unusual flowering plants. Let's talk about it.

Look. At. This. (!). A fungus spore landed on this weevil. Grew inside and caused it to climb to the top of this plant- while the fungus killed it. Consumed its body. Used that energy to shoot up a red fruiting body to release more spores. To zombify more weevils. A mind controlling killer fungus.

A lawn with zero lawn-mower noise? 🍃 At Prague’s Krč Hospital, a flock of mouflon sheep keeps the grass in check. No engines, just the soft jingle of bells. So if you wake up from anesthesia to bleats and tinkling, don’t panic: you’re not in heaven, just the hospital takes #biodiversity seriously. 🐏
