After only 10 years, I may be making friends at work. They're all in at least 2 of the queer / ND / disability networks. (My colleagues are fine, but the ones I was really friends with left & I am bad at people. Also have not worked out how to deal with promotions etc.)

Emailed the uni yesterday to ask them why they think my requested adjustments are not reasonable per the Equality Act 2010. Very much torn between "this is a fair question & I think I've asked in a decently non-confrontational way" vs. "fuck yeah explain THAT 💪🏻" vs. "oh god *anxiety intensifies*".

I have arrived 4 min early for my GP appointment. The expected wait is 40 minutes. 🫠 (Not the doctor's fault, but good grief how frustrating. Also it's really hot in the waiting area & I have to listen to the repurposed satnav text to speech which pronounces 'Dr' as 'drive'. 🫠🫠)

Just taken a test to learn what kind of learner I am. Unsurprisingly for someone who is hypophantastic & has auditory processing issues, I am read/write & kinaesthetic (the other 2 options are auditory & visual). Insert unimpressed face here.

Having a really really sad day. Mainly because work is incompatible with my preferred coping mechanism (distract yourself until things improve). I really really want to distract myself with food, but that will only create another problem. So. Just going to be miserable, I guess? It's a bit shit.

Had another lovely day lake swimming with a friend. Not nearly as desperately needed as in the midst of the heat wave, but a pretty pleasant temperature. I actually got much colder sitting outside a cafe with hot chocolate than I did in the water, especially my feet as I forgot to take normal shoes.
