Spoke to Channel 4 News today about who pays for litigation. Courts make law that binds everyone, and at the moment anyone can fund a case and nobody gets to know. We expect transparency with political donations, with lobbying, even with who owns a company. Not with court cases.

What's in a name? Well, the naming of things matters to how they are seen. Groups that appropriate words like "freedom" and "protection" in their names need to be seen in such context, as often there is little freedom nor protection to be seen.

Condemning riots isn't enough. We need policy action, including an immediate appraisal of X as a vehicle for coordinating far-right disorder. And we need political leadership, to challenge white nationalism as an idea, not to validate it daily and then complain when it turns violent.

Watching Mary-Ann Stephenson give evidence at the women's committee. Overwhelming feeling is one of acute political failure. No sector is safe from litigation, from either direction. The Supreme Court eradicated any clarity. The EHRC refuses to provide it. Politicians are too scared to get involved.
