There are bigger games I'm playing right now, but I can't get Denshattack out of my head. I'm not generally one for arcade-style games, but this one has really grabbed me in a way I haven't felt in this genre for maybe a decade? The soundtrack is just banger after banger too. Damn, games are good.

I only halfway understand what's going on in the leaked opening trailer for the cancelled Kingdom Hearts: Missing Link mobile game but honestly the song that starts in a 2:35 is such a banger that I don't even care.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is hitting so good, man. I want these games to go back to this size. Leave the 100-hour runtime for the JRPGs, and keep these open worlds reasonable and constrained. The 30-40 hour mark for a game like this is perfect.

I think the new one doesn’t hit like the original, but maybe that’s just the nostalgia talking

I'm intrigued by Adventures of Elliot, but my brain can't get over the HD-2D style. It rejects it immediately upon looking at it, just an immediate repulsion that I can't quantify in a more meaningful way than "it's ugly and I hate it"

I was kinda disappointed by most of the big reveals and announcements at Summer Games Fest (apart from Laufey and the few scant details we got for Persona 6) and then today's Nintendo Direct happened and I realized that all of the stuff I'm pumped for was just waiting to get announced there instead.

I finally finished Metaphor: ReFantazio this week so if Atlus comes to Summer Games Fest with a Persona 6 announcement you're welcome

Played through the Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream demo and now my entire body is vibrating in anticipation of that game. It's gonna be so dumb… I can't wait.

The party questioned him on why he was named goblin, when he’s an elf. He just said, “Well where do you think the term came from?” and would not elaborate further.

So he spends hundreds of years in this bag at a time. It’s impervious to damage because it’s a creation of his mind. Sometimes people will pick up the bag and take it elsewhere, and when he comes out he finds himself in an entirely different part of the world. Doesn’t really bother him though.

Another fun NPC from a recent session: An ancient elf named Goblin, who has lived for eons. Long ago he figured out how to create a physical manifestation of his own mind palace. It’s a knapsack that he can just step into whenever, finding himself in a wooded grove with an elaborate cottage.

Catching up on Ryan North's Fantastic Four run and four issues back-to-back have had: 1. The history of comics and what the medium can mean to those with low/no sight 2. Deep dive on how air velocity is measured 3. Excellent use of misaligned passages of time 4. The Avengers but they're dinosaurs

Of particular note is the new Ultimates series. I’m only two issues in, but I can already tell it’s an all-timer. Every issue has multiple moments where something happens that I didn’t see coming. Just fantastic writing and character work accompanied by striking art and layouts.

Spending some of my holiday getting caught up on comics since I've been neglecting the hobby for the past year or two and man, everything going on in the Ultimate and Absolute lines is pretty incredible, huh? It's amazing what these creators can do when they're unshackled by continuity.

I am so deeply sorry to be in the position to have to pull this lever again, but I just watched my car get towed away and I don't really know what else to do anymore. More details in the update & description, but if you're able to help out or share, we would be grateful beyond words.

It’s that time of year again where I make little graphics highlighting my favorite stuff that came out this year. I didn’t read many comics until around November (superhero burnout has been hitting me hard lately), so I’ve been playing catch-up. 😅

I'm sorry, Atlus not announcing anything at The Game Awards is my fault. I'm still making my way through Metaphor ReFantazio and they're being kind and waiting for me to finish.

This humble bundle is an absolutely wildly good deal. The 2010's is maybe one of the best eras of comics ever, especially at Image. $18 for all the best stuff from that time is ridiculous. If you haven't read even one of these series, it's worth the price of entry. www.humblebundle.com/books/im...

Granted, I don't think the game would be as successful as it is without those 40 hours of setup, but it's a lot! To go through!

000

Tyler Anderson @tandyq.zone · 25/11/2025

I really love The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy and it'll probably be on my 2025 GOTY list, but even I will admit that a game where you have to play ~40 hours before the story really kicks into gear and the mechanics get interesting is a bit of a tough sell for most people.

I think it’s neat that these characters are going to be in Crossworlds! It’s fun seeing characters from the comics pop up in games, since that’s typically just a one-way street going in the opposite direction.

Dispatch, Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, and Ghost of Yotei have really been hitting for me lately. I'm juggling a lot of games at once, but they're all so excellent that it's a fun kind of juggling with a lot of variety.

This past weekend during a D&D session I introduced my players to a wolf-themed Weavestreamer (think fantasy Twitch influencer) named Lycan Subscribe, along with his entourage. He started off by pranking the party with an illusory illithid riding a wyvern. They immediately hated him. It ruled.

Coming back to this to say the new Motion City Soundtrack absolutely rips. Panic Stations didn’t really hit with me all that much, so I’m thrilled that this new album is so dang good.
