Yes! They’re way too overrated. Also I believe most people really underestimate the technical challenge of it and the restrictions that would apply if FDev were to introduce some form of ship interiors.

😄 Yeah, I don’t love it that much either. I admit, it is the ship I use the most thanks to Colonization. But I’m always glad if I need to land on an outpost, so I have an excuse to switch to the T8. (The T8 also looks way better in my opinion 😅)

I think I'll give it a try. Judging from the videos alone, it seems to be about as effective as core mining, but maybe a bit more predictable than finding asteroids with fissures. Also I appreciate more variety in gameplay styles, even if it‘s not the most effective method.

That probably doesn't count in the context of this question. But if I could change one thing, it would be to step in early in the development of Odyssey and cut the on-foot component. Instead, I would have focused development on even more new planet types, stellar phenomena, Guardian ruins, etc.

There’s a really weird annoying AI art trend for YouTube. It’s when they are doing a game character/boss compilation and they recreate them in AI for the thumbnail. Just use the bloody screenshot. Your AI art makes it harder to recognise who they are!!!

I wouldn't mind if it were just a location scanner and you still had to get out of the vehicle to collect resources. But a radar showing the direction to the next sample would be great! Also: I totally agree about the mining equivalent!

I played on Quest 3 using Virtual Desktop until recently. A few months ago I started having issues, not with Elite, but with VD crashing fairly frequently for some reason. Since then I moved to Mac / GeForce Now anyway, so VR is no longer really an option. But I really do want to get back into it.

If civilian modules become available, I’d especially like to see more engineered cargo racks. If it’s necessary for balancing, they can go ahead and set a limit per ship, as long as I don’t need to keep switching them out from ship to ship all the time.

It’s a small detail, but I absolutely love how the day/night cycle (or any animations in the game) are part of the puzzle right from each start. The creepy mansion from the Halloween update some years ago is still one of my favorites, it made me realize how much more brilliant this game can get.

Today at 34 & Park in Minneapolis, a woman tried to drive down the street where a protest had broken out in front of a home ICE was raiding, saying she had a doctor apt to get to. ICE agents busted out her windows, cut off her seatbelt, and pulled her out before arresting her.
