The first Coltrane I ever heard, acquired via Columbia House when I was 13 or 14. Totally rewired my brain, especially starting here towards the end of his career/life. I finally tracked down an LP of it a couple years ago and it’s still amazing even after knowing so much more of his work.

Saw Built to Spill in 2001, Doug played a short solo acoustic set, then BTS played, then Calvin Johnson came out and they did 30-40 minutes of Halo Benders songs, Calvin pulled people onstage (including me) to dance during an epic “Don’t Touch My Bikini”

Great episode, did not realize that Britt and Pajo play all the guitar on "Don, Aman" or that it was basically sprung on the rest of the band in the studio. Still a beautiful sounding record, the closest any 90s rock record came to sounding like A Kind of Blue or something
