Anyway, it isn't something that can truly be solved by us at the unit bc the real issue is that we have 12k people allocated to our geographical area and it's impossible to manage everyone's primary care needs in such a large area. We'd need a second unit with a full team to manage it all

Not to mention the issue with people recommending me to their neighbours!! Who then demand a doctor's appointment with Me Specifically for an issue that kinda can't wait a whole month to be solved, and they WILL get pissy if the nurses suggest a sooner appointment with a different clinician

The problem with that is that it takes a Lot of time for my patients to return to me (because they have to wait a month+ for an available slot) and it generates a lot of friction bc they WILL scream at our receptionists and nurse techs bc i can't see them sooner

It isn't even that the other doctors at my unit are bad (I've seen them make clinical decisions I wouldn't necessarily make myself but nothing truly dangerous or Wrong) but I'm the only one who went to residency for family medicine specifically. It makes a lot of difference for patients, turns out
