Just call God “she” or “her” or “mother” and you will find out very quickly how many Christians refuse to see God’s image in women. As if calling God by a feminine pronoun is demeaning to God rather than naming part of who God is. This is the worship of patriarchy.

Trying not to be petty at work right now. It’s hard when someone says that $6K/year for dog food (for 2 dogs) is more than some people spend on their kids. Clearly, they have no kids. $6K is the low end for my grocery budget per year with 2 kids. Also, they’re only spending $4.5K. Math!

I'm not concerned about those who question God or even doubt God. That’s just a natural part of faith. My concern are those who claim to know the mind of God better than anyone and act as though they have the right to impose their beliefs on everyone else.

After being held in two of them as a boy, I fought for decades urging America to never again build concentration camps and put human beings in them. It breaks my heart to watch this happen twice now in my own lifetime.

My grandma passed yesterday. We expected her go in July when she took a really bad turn. It’s bringing up some things that I just can’t sort out. Largely, I feel this sense of lost history — and a sense of greater responsibility as I’m, more or less, now the elder woman in my family line.
