I'm glad that more people are learning about this scene from Hadashi no Gen; it perfectly encapsulates the real horror of what happened on that day. It should be shown to any American still acting like this was in any way necessary.

One of the biggest problems with green technology is that big businesses can’t make endless money from it. Oil/gas is a consumable that they make money from pumping, transporting, refining etc. LOTS of money year over year The same is not true for wind/solar. That’s the biggest hurdle.

In Super Paper Mario, holding 1 and Left for 4 hours in the Blooper boss room will crash the game. Fascinatingly, the reason for this is the same as for the famous Parallel Universes in Super Mario 64, whereby Mario encounters a parallel version of the cutscene very far away.

In Super Paper Mario, there is a glitch that allows Mario to clip out of bounds everywhere by tossing a Gold Bar, using Slim's ability, catching the Gold Bar near a wall or edge, pressing 1+2, selecting another Pixl and finally jumping into the out of bounds area.
Doing this in Chapter 3-2 in the room with the Blooper boss will cause Mario to go off screen to the left. If the player then uses Dashell to dash to the left for 4 hours straight while off-screen, Blooper will start appearing and the game will crash (with that classic Wii crash sound).
The technical reason for this is fascinating: Mario's position is stored as a float variable (which can go to infinity) while the cutscene scripts truncate the floats in their calculations, wrapping around if the value is too high or too low.
If this sounds familiar, it is because this is exactly the same issue that gives rise to parallel universes in Super Mario 64, whereby the game truncates a float to check for floors under Mario, causing the floor collision to seemingly wrap around and creating extra copies of the level far away.
Walking to the left for 4 hours causes Mario to encounter a "parallel universe" version of the Blooper cutscene, causing an error and crashing the game.

An officially licensed 1986 Japanese toy of Bowser holding Mario on a spring has a very unfortunate design issue with the placement of the nub to hold Mario in the spring. The spring appears to be attached to a normally unseen part of Mario's anatomy.

This won’t stop Iran’s nuclear weapon development. It won’t support the protesters. It won’t lower your costs or fix American healthcare. It *will* murder countless civilians, destabilize Iran and the region, and drag us into another forever war.

We are attacking Iran because we believe can with zero accountability. It’s fucking disgusting. And so many of our leaders — in both parties, by the way — are applauding this. The people of Iran are the ones who determine their fate. The U.S. and Israel’s obsession with regime change is abhorrent.

The morally bankrupt Trump administration has partnered with another morally bankrupt authoritarian to declare an unprovoked war on Iran, already killing scores of civilians. We need an immediate vote from Congress on a War Powers Resolution. Then articles of impeachment.

the Black Panthers were right

IF YOU'RE UNEMPLOYED IT'S NOT BECAUSE THERE ISNT ANY WORK
JUST LOOK AROUND: A HOUSING SHORTAGE, CRIME, POLLUTION; WE NEED BETTER SCHOOLS AND PARKS.
WHATEVER OUR NEEDS, THEY ALL REQUIRE WORK.
AND AS LONG AS WE HAVE UNSATISFIED NEEDS, THERE'S WORK TO BE DONE.
SO ASK YOURSELE, WHAT KIND OF WORLD HAS WORK BUT NO JOBS. IT'S A WORLD WHERE WORK IS NOT RELATED TO SATISFYING OUR NEEDS, WORLD WHERE WORK IS ONLY RELATED TO SATISFYING THE PROFIT NEEDS OF BUSINESS.
THIS COUNTRY WAS NOT BUILT BY THE HUGE CORPORATIONS OR GOVERNMENT BUREAUCRACIES.
IT WAS BUILT BY PEOPLE WHO WORK. AND, IT IS WORKING PEOPLE WHO SHOULD CONTROL THE WORK TO BE DONE. YET, AS LONG AS EMPLOYMENT IS TIED TO SOMEBODY ELSE'S PROFITS, THE WORK WONT GET DONE.
