#axelreads #11 Final installment in the binge for the moment (I think) Notebook by Tom Cox. Again absolutely delightful and makes me want to keep a diary or commonplace book

#axelreads #9 Continuing my Tom Cox streak with this. Again just exactly the kind of thing I need to be reading right now. Just so relaxing for me

#8 Ring the hill by Tom Cox @dj-acid-reflux.bsky.social. This is the first of his books I read but wow. It will not be the last. It evoked more emotions and quieting of my soul than rambling accounts of walking up hills should be able to and I absolutely love it!

#AxelReads #6 A drop of corruption by Robert Jackson Bennett. Started this series by recommendation from @maddambeltaine.bsky.social and I am very happy I did. The second installment is in fact even better than the first.

#AxelReads #6 Bookshops and Bonedust by Travis again. Also a stunning book, if a touch less special to me perhaps. Still lovely though!

Ok I have forgotten to update this so let's see what we have. #AxelReads #5 Legends and Lattes by Travis Baldree. Honestly did not expect to love this book as much as I did. But as a coffee person the descriptions almost made me cry in ways I did not see coming. Learned something about myself.

I should make clear that this is not a skill competition, it's just a raffle among those who submit. We want to see all sorts. I submitted this one myself

Look at these dice! Would you believe me if I said that is not the only dice you can win in the Dicecord this week? By showing us your takes on Fanart from the show you can win these dice and this dice bag, both handcrafted. Currently the pool is only 6 people - the odds have never been better!

Ok time for #AxelReads #4: Empire in black and gold by Adrian Tchaikovsky. I struggled a bit in the middle of this, I will admit. I prefer less slavery in my fantasy. But it pulled itself up by the end. Will definitely continue the series

Ok turns out an e-reader was key to finding time to read for me so already an addition! #AxelReads #2: The tainted cup by Robert Jackson Bennett as recommended by @maddambeltaine.bsky.social Another fantasy murder mystery. Very much up my alley, even if it did suffer a bit from Fantasyese

I'm gonna take a leaf out of @maddambeltaine.bsky.social s book (pun intended) and make a Have Read list for 2026! So for #AxelReads #1: Relics of Ruin by Erin M Evans, second in the series. Excellent Fantasy Mystery and I love the unique world building. Polyamorous slendermen? Let's go!

I did a little roadtrip a few days ago and managed to pass by Stegeborg Castle. Despite having read the whole Wikipedia page as research for my vaesen module (tinyurl.com/yc4wrjsw 😉) the sheer scale of the place took me by surprise A very cool definitely not haunted place. Would recommend

I love maps, very much enjoying the replies to this! I have a bunch of them but I'm quite bad at finishing projects I do for myself, I am not even half done with my world map despite fiddling with it for a long time which is annoying :/

I quite enjoy heraldry so I have flags and shields for a bunch of kingdoms and duchies in my world but they have mostly been for me up until this point. Trying to slowly introduce them to my players as they travel the lands. Still pleased with the heraldry I made for the Dice Company podcast though

Oh wow! Yeah they certainly look like the time was worth it! Also I really appreciate it, you are a master of the craft! I have a townmap which I made a couple of years ago which looks very crude to me now and my world map which I am much more pleased with but which clearly isn't done. The treeees

Unexpected use for a piece of 1:6 chain mail I made at least 15 years ago (😱). Turns out it wraps my current wrist rest perfectly and is surprisingly comfortable. Perfect for online DnD when you want that mediaeval mood 😆

At some point I said I'd make a heraldic version of the @dicecompany.bsky.social heron, so here it is finally! It doesn't quite follow normal heraldry but I've tried to fit many references in there. Quite beyond what I've done before, so a really fun challenge!

I'm very inexperienced with digital art but the continued mentions of a heron stood on an apricot in the excellent DnD podcast by @dicecompany.bsky.social made me want to give it a go. Still working on a more heraldic version 😅

A friend of mine just started working with chain mail which prompted me to actually start with the extension project to my own shirt. It was more than 10 years ago that I finished it, but feels really good to be back at it. Down the rabbit hole we go!
