In response, Huang agreed that student cognition is getting much worse.

“Try to get a kid to do long division right now. The multiplication table is starting to be forgotten. Doing square roots, my goodness,” Huang said. “Basic math is being forgotten. Does it matter?”

“That’s my question for you,” Klein replied.

“Yeah. I don’t think it does. I don’t think it does,” Huang said in response. “We’re going to discover new [skills],” the CEO continued, “just maybe not those.”

The interview then took a bizarre turn, with Huang admitting that he lacks some surprisingly basic life skills himself.“There are a lot of skills that don’t matter,” he said. “My first confession, I actually don’t know my address… one day I had to pump gas — it was a few years ago. They needed my ZIP code, and I panicked. I didn’t know my ZIP code. I don’t know my telephone number. I forget these things. I can live with it.”

Huang’s point, after some pushback from Klein, is that “we’re going to lose some finer intellectual dexterity, but we’re going to be better systems thinkers,” because AI will take care of those mundane details — like remembering your own home address — for you.

When Lucy from Compass Books in Dartmouth, Devon, was victim to shoplifting people told her to install CCTV. Instead she put this ancient book thief curse on the wall from the Monastery of San Pedro in Barcelona so book stealers would be consumed by "the flames of hell" with "their members blasted".
A Curse Against Stealers Of Books
For him that
stealth a book from
this place, let it
change into a
serpent in his hand
and rend him.
Let him be struck with
palsy,
& all his members
blasted.
Let him languish in
pain crying aloud for
mercy, & let there be be no surcease to his
agony till he sink to
dissolution.
Let bookworms gnaw
his entrails in token of
the Worm that diets not,
& when at last he
goeth to his final
punishment, let the
flames of
hell consume him
forever & aye.

I am going to take a cue from Ashurbanipal and start writing my CV like this. (From Selena Wisnom's The Library of Ancient Mesopotamia and the Making of History.)
I learned the craft of the sage Adapa, the secret and hidden lore of all the scribal arts. I am able to recognise celestial and terrestrial omens and can discuss them in an assembly of scholars. I am capable of arguing with expert diviners about the series called 'If the liver is a mirror image of the heavens'. I can
resolve complex mathematical divisions and multiplications that do not have an easy solution. I have read cunningly written texts in obscure Sumerian and Akkadian that are difficult to interpret. I have carefully examined inscriptions on stone from before the Deluge that are sealed, stopped up, and confused.
