glad her attorney called it out. this happens *so much*; prosecutors caring more about "sending a message" than being fair and thorough. Then if the case blows up, the victims are blamed and further maligned.
 Doe’s attorney, Thomas P. Giuffra, told CNN in a statement the police report was “not materially different” from what was contained in the complaint and criticized the district attorney’s office for not doing more at the time.

“It is challenging for me to understand how a thorough criminal investigation could have been conducted when she never spoke with anyone other than the officer who took her original complaint,” Giuffra said, adding he believed “opportunities to fully investigate these crimes were lost.

Trump officially rolled back fuel efficiency standards today. The new target for 2031 is about 34.5 miles per gallon, down from 50.4. That means more gas burned, more pollution, and more money out of drivers’ pockets. So much for making things affordable.

A court blocked the IRS from handing private taxpayer information over to ICE. The ruling found that the current data exchange procedure was in direct violation of protection procedures. We filed a similar lawsuit last year to stop this dangerous privacy violation.

I'll never forget the student journalists at Columbia who continued to cover the university bringing in an army of cops to dismantle the Pro-Palestine student encampments. Even when the folks at the SCHOOL OF JOURNALISM were prohibited from covering it, they stayed and kept covering. Amazing kids
