split-screen comparison meme with text at the top asking, "Can you tell the difference?" On the left is a close-up photo of a hawk perched outdoors; on the right is a photo of actor Alan Alda as Hawkeye Pierce from the television series MASH*. Text across the bottom reads: "If yes, you are smarter than Congressman Eric Schmitt," with the TikTok watermark @jimspoliticalplan in the corner.

Drawtober 1 - Sniff In case it wasn't clear from the size of his snout, Lôf has an excellent sense of smell! He could track a person or an animal from miles away! Of course this talent is perfect also for finding truffles, maybe him and Arno can get some good money out of this! :P #furry #anthro

4-panel comic by War and Peas. Panel 1: A man at a bar tells Slutty Witch, "You really need to find God." Panel 2: She looks irritated. "I do?" Panel 3: Slutty Witch walks through a dark forest at night, glowing eyes watching from the bushes. Panel 4: She sits on a log beside a massive pagan forest deity with antlers and a long beard who says, "I think you're doing great."

The Emma Frost x Miss Piggy comic has hit the internet and it's so, so, so much more magnificent than I ever could have hoped for
Emma Frost: "Emma Frost, darling. I'm a telepath. May I read your mind to ascertain if you're telling the truth?"

Miss Piggy: "But of course, darling I am an open book, a tell-all memoir."Emma Frost telepathically witnessing the entirety of Miss Piggy's life.Wolverine: "Frost? She legit?"
Emma Frost: "She's..She's... She's everything. And I would die for her."

Interested in learning about one aspect of #Enshittification? Here's a 25-part thread explaining part of it using a recent experience of mine scheduling a delivery.

Sylvan Scott @sylvanscott.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
The delivery of my order is just a very small example of how this cascades down into the everyday woes of people. On the opposite end of this spectrum are the massive data-breaches resulting in identity theft and loss of money as a result of rushed-job software. This is #Enshittification. (25/25)

In the end, these money-grubbing decision-makers nearly ALWAYS put their profit above their customer's safety. They don't care if they put out buggy products. Coders are stuck between a rock and a hard-place. And, in the end, the systems we all rely upon are just getting worse. (24/?)

Sylvan Scott @sylvanscott.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
That's what I wrote (slightly edited to fit into the character limits here on Blusky). I meant it. You want to know where these big data breaches come from? Most of the time it's due to patchwork code resulting from irrational demands made by the C-suite execs who cut corners. (23/?)

"So, the long-winded answer is to let you know that you've got a bad system in place or poor users of it. I will be hesitant to shop with you again solely due to that." (22/?)

Sylvan Scott @sylvanscott.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
"I've worked for vanishingly few companies who support coding the right way. Not even Microsoft or Adobe have a good system in place. (I'll happily admit that the electronics company LG allows for proper time estimates and security coding ... I always buy technology from them!)" (21/?)

"Hence, my decision to never install any app on my phone other than those that are absolutely necessary (VPN, security apps, etc...). And I never trust that my data will be safe in the hands of a company who collects or purchases it." (20/?)

Sylvan Scott @sylvanscott.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
"Most are skilled networkers and coders but they exploit weaknesses in the code that are left there by rush-jobs caused by upper management not wanting to spend the money and time on doing the job right, the first time." (19/?)
100
Sylvan Scott @sylvanscott.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
"I do not install apps on my phone for this very reason. I know that the security of these apps and on the servers that hold their data is subject to the very same process as I described above. People are of the opinion that hackers who cause data breaches must be geniuses. This isn't true." (18/?)

Sylvan Scott @sylvanscott.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
"Whatever third-party coded your systems ... either they didn't do a good enough job in the code or they didn't go a good enough job teaching your staff how to use it. Maybe both." (17/?)
100
Sylvan Scott @sylvanscott.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
"It forces coders to cut corners, work long and frantic hours resulting in mistakes, and prevents documentation for users to actually USE the code that's been written." (16/?)
100
Sylvan Scott @sylvanscott.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
"This is usually because management forces coders to work on compressed time-tables while ignoring time estimates that coders originally provide. I've suffered through this myself." (15/?)

"I have worked in Web Development for 32 years. I have coded back-end delivery and inventory systems for a living. I have developed user interfaces and customer outreach tools. Either your office staff do not know how to use them or they simply are not very well coded." (14/?)

(And this was where I got on my soapbox. I know why this stuff tends to happen. In my professional eCommerce experiences over the past 30+ years, I've seen quite a bit in the way of inventory and fulfillment systems that companies use.) (13/?)

"The delivery scheduling process was that bad. This is why I am leaving a "6". In-Store Purchasing: 10 1st Delivery Scheduling & Delivery: 10 2nd Delivery Scheduling: 0 2nd Delivery (when it finally happened): 10" (12/?)
100
Sylvan Scott @sylvanscott.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
"It was frustrating and aggravating. I wasn't even offered any sort of recompense ... not that it would have helped. Even though the in-store service was peak (low-pressure, knowledgeable, & helpful) and the deliveries quick and professional, I'm not sure if I'd shop with you again." (11/?)
100
Sylvan Scott @sylvanscott.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
"So, the delivery guys were great! They did an excellent job! I give them a 10+. But the process, confusing texts, use of an automated scheduler that couldn't answer human questions, the loss of use for my living room for several days: these would rate a 0." (10/?)

Sylvan Scott @sylvanscott.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
"I got a call later from one of your reps saying that they couldn't get me in on Wednesday and it would NOW arrive on Saturday ... a day LATER than what I'd been told earlier that day! We had already gotten rid of the old furniture. There was nowhere to sit but the one recliner." (9/?)
100
Sylvan Scott @sylvanscott.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
"I was told that they had neglected to inform me. They also said that they would do their best to see if they could get me in for the next day, Wednesday, rather than the new time of Friday. I said "Okay" and left it at that." (8/?)

Sylvan Scott @sylvanscott.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
"I cleared my schedule to be at home and made plans for later in that week. But I still didn't know what the time window was. On the phone, when attempting to find out what time the delivery would arrive, I was informed that it was NOT coming and was delayed." (7/?)
100
Sylvan Scott @sylvanscott.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
"That was good enough for me. I got about 4 or 5 subsequent texts about my order being ready but, having already confirmed with you that my first date was already set up, I ignored these. The day of delivery ticked closer." (6/?)
100
Sylvan Scott @sylvanscott.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
"It also said "your items are ready to ship" and asked me to respond to set up delivery. I was confused since I'd already done this. I responded, asking what this was about and whether or not I had scheduled things at all. It assured me I had by repeating the date that I'd set up with it." (5/?)
100
Sylvan Scott @sylvanscott.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
"I eventually got the second text for the last part of my order -a loveseat and a sofa- within the timeframe it had been promised. I answered it and went through the process with your automated system over text. I set up a delivery date. About a week later, I got another text." (4/?)
100
Sylvan Scott @sylvanscott.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
"However, even though I got the first text message from you about my split delivery (the one involving my recliner), just fine, the text messages that followed were confusing and seemingly haphazard." (3/?)

I finally ordered furniture with money I'd saved up since long before I lost my job. I bought from a discount furniture place in Roseville. They asked me to fill out a survey after everything was done. And everything except scheduling was a 10. Scheduling was a 0. Here's what I wrote: (1/?)

I don't think it's necessary to proactively vet the creator of every piece of art we might enjoy, but neither is it necessary to ignore or excuse what we find to be failings in these creators when we learn of them. We are all allowed to be our own moral actors in what we consume and who we support.

2h.

I got fired from AMC because whenever
someone ordered a small popcorn, I'd
"accidentally" fill up a large bucket and tell
them we ran out of smalls.

Now I work at McDonald's, and you better
believe you order a 6 piece, you're getting
8 or 9 nuggets. Order a 10 piece? There are
at least 13 in that box.

l'll keep doing this sh*t until the day I die.
F_ck these giant corporations. I'm here for
the people.
