Why do people who rightly abhor the fallacy of casting judgement over an oppressed group based on the actions of its worst members, perfectly happy to do when it comes to other groups? E.g. men, white people, and yes, even billionaires.

The Telegraph pretty much employs only lunatics now, but writers I like and respect are still collaborating with The Times. Rather like posting on X, there needs to be more of a stigma around working for fascist-enabling newspapers.

Certainly true for some, but for others it shows that some of the world's most educated people are not immune from false frames. Free speech. Helping the working class. Protecting women and girls. Etc.

Your timeline has been cursed by the appearance of the Harry Potter Cybertruck. You must perform one act of kindness today to restore balance to a world in which this abomination exists.

Philp's conflation of 'foreign born' and citizenship isn't due to ignorance. It's a deliberate attempt to frame foreign-born citizens as second-class. With net migration falling, the nativists need the next group to target.

Pointless to speculate, but I can’t help feeling that if Harry & Meghan had announced their return to the U.K. a couple of weeks earlier, Jason Arday might still be alive.

Even if I'd willingly agreed to be on TV and the feedback was overwhelmingly approving, having a three-minute clip of me go viral and people looking into my background feels deeply intrusive and unnecessary.

This is not a new problem. The mainstream attention is newer, but the industry has been acutely aware for decades. And while this piece does a good job of explaining, it offers nothing in the way of solutions. The underlying issue is simply economics. Good QC costs money, and few buyers will pay.

Are AI Agents in Moltbook Conscious? We (and our Students) May Think They Are stefanbauschard.substack.com/p/are-ai-agent… #AI #education
We've been preparing students for a world of individual achievement and standardized assessment. The world arriving is one of networked intelligence, where the most important skill isn't what you know but how you contribute to systems that know more than any individual. The students who thrive won't be those who can out-compute machines at individual tasks. They'll be those who can function effectively as nodes in systems that include both human and artificial minds-and who can do so while
maintaining their own judgment about which minds to trust and how much.
