On this day in 1942, Lucy Maud Montgomery died. Born in 1874 in New London, PEI, she wrote 20 novels, and over 1,000 short stories and poems. Her most famous book is Anne of Green Gables, which has sold over 50 million copies and been translated into 36 languages.

A black-and-white portrait of Lucy Maud Montgomery seated in a high-backed chair, wearing a light-colored hat with a dark band and a dark dress with embroidered details. She has short, wavy hair, glasses, and a composed expression while looking directly at the camera. A brooch is pinned at her neckline. A handwritten signature is visible across the lower right portion of the image.

If you watch the 90s version of The Outer Limits, you’ll for sure see a future Canadian star (and a few future American ones) in any given episode. Everyone was on this show at one time or another

I am reminded of this great Kate Beaton cartoon. And honestly? Same, chicas.

Kate Beaton cartoon of the Charlotte and Emily Bronte mooning over asshole men, and making fun of Anne for not getting it.

Day 19: Andy Kubert #comicskycoverartists This one was tough for me as I dislike the 90’s Marvel house style, but this one works for me because of the muscle-dad in the front with the brooding sex-stare and the giant phallic smoking gun between his legs. Unf. Who is the character, I don’t know GIJ?

Dramatic posing of eight GI Joe characters. In the front here is a muscular blond bearded guy in torn clothing crouched with an enormous smoking gun between his legs. He looks like he’s going to fuck the shit out of you. 🩶

I sample a lot of new comics and am disappointed at how many recent superhero #1's fail to clearly introduce their cast + premise because they're just the next issue of a previous series. Endlessly pounding the New #1 button won't work if you don't even try to make it a viable jumping on point.

Preview for "The Commission Gallery: Bearding the Lion." I was commissioned to draw art for "Bearding the Lion", the wonderful story written by @boymercuryx.bsky.social and @sweenmcdervish.bsky.social. Check out the story here: new.nifty.org/stories/bear... And check out my art on my patreon.

Closely cropped image of two men, rougly embracing (or are they doing more), faces close, lips almost touching. The left man is wearing a tight white shirt; the man on the right looks like he just left a boxing ring, his eye is blackened, there is blood on his face. In the bottom corner you can see the left man's knee, being held up by the right man's hand, and he appears to be held up and pushed against a row of lockers.
