Voted yesterday at PVD City Hall, was out in 5 min. 10 years ago, before there was early voting in RI, I waited in line for 3 hours on Election Day. Sometimes it feels like the pace of positive change in RI is glacial, but this is one area that has gotten better over time, thanks to #letRIVote.

”As daylight faded outside his corner office, Speaker Shekarchi mused that after a year's hiatus, he might not have enough "juice." The point of revolving door laws is to reduce the chance of political insiders juicing the wheels of justice. Going to court to become a judge is not a good look.

Why would a one-year revolving door ban, aimed at limiting political influence in the courts, apply only to lower courts, and not to the Supreme Court? For this non-lawyer, an exemption to the law for the highest court makes no sense. RIers deserve an explanation that doesn’t sound like cronyism.
