Hey, @novascotiahealth.bsky.social, when will Covid vaccines be available? Other provinces have already started rolling them out. What’s the hold up? Many of us would like to get them asap given infections are already on the rise.

You know I want people to use transit, right? We can improve transit to reduce car use.

suzanneleb.bsky.social @suzanneleb.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

I am all for encouraging more transit use. Public transportation is key to improving so many things. When people encounter issues that should be dealt with then they lean back to the use of cars. In my car my dirt is my dirt and I dont don’t do some of the things that you find on busses now.

Not to mention poor ventilation, cleanliness, and, often, safety.

Maybe we will do better with the next CMOH. When the guy that is supposed to guide everyone says so many outlandish things we can’t get anywhere. He never could get his head into clean air in schools either. Other leasing experts joined advocates and he just buried his head.

We need to advocate for clean air in schools and public buildings. The last generation did this for kids. It’s why there is much less mould and toxic chemical cleaners. Now we know that viruses are airborne.

Insecure people, particularly white men, love to insult and bring down ambitious, smart women who have important things to say. They can’t imagine that a woman is smarter than they are. Well, actually…

Dr Oz: "If you use AI to get a bank manager to think like a fraudster and do the things they would've done, it actually works. We're now taking a page from that playbook and using it in government ... we shut down half the hospices in Los Angeles. And by the way, they didn't complain!"

Oh that's right. I made a graph of this for a video. Different parts of Halifax are taxed at radically different rates despite having roughly the same headline rate. Places that cost more to seevice per person are generally taxed at lower rates.

A bar chart showing the current effective tax rate and estimated tax rate needed to break even in service costs. Urban fistricts pay upwards of double the necessary rates to cover their service costs.

Before the pandemic I noticed many Asian people masking in downtown Halifax on busy streets. I clued in that I might not get pneumonia so often if I did and found procedure masks in one of those little stores with cute Japanese imports. They have better sense of community responsibility?

This was something a lot of housing advocates saw coming a mile away when the immigration cuts were announced. The fundamental stance of Canadian cities is that they prefer high prices to building housing. They love high prices. Easing off immigration was never going to change that.

Post by me from 7 months ago stating that cities are a bottleneck to growth.
