Got almost done with a cute puzzle template and then had a panicked thought - what if giraffes don’t have knees??! (spoiler: they do, but they are weird knees)

Why do I keep making things? Because I really enjoy making things. It takes a lot of patience and practice to make good things, but that work and the process are often even more rewarding than the finished thing. Shortcuts to instant “creativity” aren’t ever going to replace the experience of making

More big "round number" puzzles from over the years! Here's Bafflers #2000 "Temple At The End Of The World", #3000 "Compass Rose", #4000 "Calm Amidst Chaos" and #5000 "A Stitch In The Universe"
A photo of a hand cut and painted multi-level wooden jigsaw puzzle that is rather complicated and large with lots of geometric cutaways and spindles on the substantial base structure. It sort of looks like a compass rose you'd find in the corner of old maps. It is painted mostly in shades of blue, save for the green island pieces that form around the top of the spindle. It is painted and cut in a kitchen-sink type approach and was the largest puzzle I will probably ever make

Being a cartoonist sometimes implies taking time off your graphic novel just so you can draw something else for once. Retro sci-fi/cassette futurism, especially of the anime kind, is very nostalgic to me.
An illustration all in purples and yellows. A woman in mechanic attire is sitting inside a capsule-style bedroom, lit by the sun through a small window. She's having dumplings. The setting is retro sci-fi or cassette futurism, with lots of pipes and analog screens decorating the surroundings. The illustration is very cluttered visually.

Every so often I think about the crappy house I rented in West Denver in '02, solely because the address was 1420 Yates Street. The plumbing was super janky, but when you flushed the toilet it sounded almost exactly like the first two seconds of the orchestra stab of the ST:TNG theme. Good times.

Meanwhile in the Lego room, a small topographic model of Montana is underway and as I only work on it for a half-dozen hours each week, it will probably take some time to finish, but should be an interesting study to see if I actually want to make a larger version!

Oof, I really feel bad for the SPX organizers - they are stuck between a hard place & a harder place in this situation, which is a completely external issue beyond their control. It is mind-bogglingly complicated to put together a convention of this complexity on its own in the best of circumstances

Baffler template based on Stetind, the national mountain of Norway. I took a little artistic license on this one.
A hand-drawn line drawing of Norway's Stetind Mountain, digitally painted in a blocky fashion like some crazy puzzlemaker is going to use this as a template to make yet more art.

I try not to be controversial on social media, but Disco Volante is definitively the best Mr Bungle record and the most overlooked. It is as important as Bitches Brew and Pet Sounds. I will fight you. Following are my persuasive arguments on this important topic 1/9 www.youtube.com/watch?v=umHh...
