Fight for Palestine yes but this motion no. Zack was MIA instead of showing leadership. I preferred the pervious leadership. My party is clear we welcome Greens who want more constructive and inclusive ways of fighting for change. This is road to oblivion stuff. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Tim Farron - That the antisemitic entryists who have captured the Green Party, are being antisemitic, is no surprise. That the Party Leader skipped this vote and failed to use his authority to argue against them, is an astonishing act of weakness. Real Greens are welcome in the Lib Dems…

While Caroline Lucas and Ellie Chowns spoke well against the Zionism is racism motion, I can’t help but be a bit disappointed that Zack or Hannah Spencer didn’t do so. It’s made the situation seem more factional than it needs to be, and some more unifying figures would have been really helpful.

Green Party conference just voted in favour of this motion, and this time, in the hall itself, specifically voted against an amendment which would have removed the element about “Zionist Synagogues”. As a result, for most Jews the Green Party will now be considered to have a policy of antisemitism.

Just so dispiriting to watch the Greens be corrupted by the same poison that took over Labour. All the same shit: the excuses, the mealy-mouthed justifications, the tortured position statements, the deafening silences. Like a historical reenactment.

🌱 #SundayYellow The seasons are definitely changing and there is a bit of a chill this morning. Still no rain though, sadly. I’m off to do my volunteering shift at Wisley’s Hilltop and hope I will have enough energy at the end to visit the new exhibition in the Old Lab, “Wisley Then and Now”.

A Red Admiral pauses to feed on a strawflower, its papery petals glowing like rubies in the autumn sunlight. These striking butterflies can often be seen on the wing well into autumn, bringing another flash of colour to the garden in the first days of October.

🌱 #sixonSaturday from my tiny garden this week. Description in Alt text. Flu and Covid vaccines later so I will be taking it easy today.
A collage of six pictures from my tiny garden this week. Although it is officially autumn, there is still lots of colour. The large picture is a very striking Dahlia with yellow and red petals called Lake Ontario (definitely not Lake America). Next to it is a Heuchera with mottled green and grey leaves and a spike of tiny coral red flowers. Below it is a red Snap Dragon. At the bottom are two purple and fed Fuchsias, one with slender flowers and one with fat flowers. In between them is an orange Calendula flower.
