little more on the subject- that first half is so promising and could have easily been cleaned up into a nice, tight, incredible 12 episode series. Literally everything that happens in the second half feels half baked and exists mostly to extend the story towards that 25 episode count. A real shame.

Watched a lot of anime over the weekend with my partner (the wonderful @sketcheddy.bsky.social) and boy summertime rendering would've been better if it was only 12 episodes. Everything in the second cour (so far, we're halfway through) has been pretty rough compared to the first one.

Been replaying some Recettear lately (thanks mel) and while I do really think it's a fun little bit of design especially given how novel the idea was when it first dropped, once you get an idea of where the numbers are, the game kinda shows how thin it can be. Still a great way to waste an hour or 2

Listen for all it's flaws, you can pork cool alien space-men/women/monogendered telekinetic telepaths. Thay'll get a lot of people to gloss over a lot of stuff, especially if they're not paying attention. It's just a shame bioware writing has stagnated and regressed over the years.
