Ace Combat's politics fascinate me. It's a humanist war game, innately oxymoronic. It's about societal struggles and cycles of violence, and also about 'great men'. It's incorrigibly woke but by nature is MIC involved. It's about borders and nations and the future of both. It's endlessly engrossing.

In much, much nicer news, Ace Combat 8 fucking SLAMS so far. The flight model feels really nice, the new soundtrack is phenomenal, and the story presentation and intrigue is the best Project Aces has done maybe tied with Electrosphere.

Ultimately, I don't know Jacob beyond his public self. I don't know the victim. I don't have anything meaningful to say beyond the fact that I am also deeply uncomfortable with having felt so much admiration for someone who had been hiding abuse like this. It's heartbreaking on a lot of levels.

Yeah I think we're in agreement. I hold a level of semantic difference because I think it's nearly impossible to truly 'trust' someone with that kind of power over you. Teachers, older family, religious heads like priests, etc.
