Yeah, he doesn't look like he's enjoying his football. Really needs a coach who believes in him who can rebuild his game and confidence. Feel for the lad that he joined #NUFC at the worst possible time all round.

He either gets much better at drifting and finding space and linking things up (and then losing a marker and getting a shot in) - or he beefs up and gets fitter and starts giving centre halves a much harder time physically. But not sure he has either in him.

Once everything went digital it became so much easier to put a number on everything. Before you did what was right - presuming this would please your customer. Now you do the minimum statistically required to keep your spending low and your customer just short of pissed off enough to shop elsewhere.

I do think there's been a shift in western economics/behaviour away from what's right to - doing whatever it takes to win/profit etc. You can try and safeguard football with complicated spending limits but you're just going to make accountants/lawyers rich. Either same limit for all or no limits.

But also - how to alienate Tyneside. Plenty of Slund players who might they might have got away with but not that lad. Repeatedly showm himself (not just on the pitch) to be a bad lot.

Imagine that going on your C.V, that you were sacked by Gateshead because you won 1 and drawn 1 out of 12 games despite a raft of new signings the club could barely afford. If Gateshead survive again this year, they'll need another miracle!

There is too much money in football. That's the problem. Any club will use whatever leverage they have for anything from leaning on VAR officials to getting past FFP sanctions. We had the Man U owner spouting on migrants from his tax avoiding home in Monaco. No nice guys here.

UAE threats are serious & worrying & a good argument against countries owning football clubs. Mind, it'd be the same from Musk, Bezoz or Zuck. Imagine the threats from any of those three. You want to fix this? Two choices - stop PSR/FFP/SCR or return to fan ownership. I'll take either. #NUFC

I enjoyed it for what it was until that point. From there they just seemed smug and right of centre. Lots of jokes about Jeremy Corbyn's mum at Cable Street. Ick.

I used to love the Rest is History podcast till they did Cable Street and it was sneery and awful. Couldn't stand the sound of their voices after that.

Never really got into Father John so I'm not the best person to ask on that. I came to them via Richmond Fontaine. Always loved the indier end of Americana. I swear yesterday's audience was significantly older than the year before. I wonder why.

Was thinking it might be useful for #NUFC folk to have the dot com site shared more often on here. Easily the best resource for fans. Might even sent up an account just to share their stuff (making it clear I'm not them) and see if we can send them some traffic. Thoughts?

When we see the excess deaths from record-breaking temperatures we shouldn't be shy in saying those journalists who knowingly lied and obfuscated about climate change until there was nothing we could do about it have blood on their hands the same way Nazi propagandists did.

It is shameful that Reform’s Deputy Leader has described South Tyneside Reform Council’s decision to close all 10 STANLEYs nurseries as an act of “courage” I don’t believe there is anything courageous about leaving children and families across our borough without vital childcare places.
