when a child is taken from the classroom for PT /OT session, it's emotionally challenging. Maybe @thecityreporter.nyc and @rachelholliday.bsky.social can also do a bit of digging around it because the DOE needs to be pressured to provide these services, that are first to go in cost cutting.

but qualifies for IEP, then you should look thrice into schools you are getting into. This can be make it or break it. Also, don't count that the teachers will be informed about your child's needs. You gotta give them heads up, materials, info... They also need to make sure that it is not awkward

got into Manhattan Center for Science and Math and it seems that it has overall great grades and I could not be happier with the school. She ranked it first (I believe back in 2022, there was a lottery?) and she got in. This was a first choice for the older too if he didn't get into a specialized HS

RECOMMEND for all parents with school aged kids! My two got out already (younger in June). It can be overwhelming and depending on the district you are in, it can be hopeless. We are in Washington Heights. Both our kids went to The Mott Hall 06M223 (they had a screening tests, not sure about now).

This is what bothers me. We know it's wrong, the government knows it's wrong, Federal don't care because of course. State ones (like NY) sued but the process is painfully slow and these guys count on that. Raking money and destroying lives until they get a slap on the wrist and become Draft Kings.
